About Us
Our winery has worked as a family owned enterprise in Imrehegy since 1991. Our wines are produced in the Káptalan Winery in Imrehegy from our own vintage, and from grapes grown and purchased in the Imrehegy area.
The building is protected by the Ancuent Monument Act these days.
Our own wine-land is 35 hectare, the characteristic species are Olaszrizling, Irsai Oliver, Cserszegi Fuszeres, Kékfrankos, Zweigelt and Pinot Noir. The new plantations consist of Nektar, Cserszegi Fuszeres, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon species.
Our family owns a cooper-mill with a capacity to fill 2-2,5 million bottles a year.
In case you have become interested in our wines do not hesitate to visit our winery.
Quality wines |
Riesling |
This kind of wine is made from different riesling-taste grapes, such as Olaszrizling, Rajnai Rizling, Gyöngyrizling and Rizlingszilváni (Müllerthuragu). We choose the best possible time for vintage, in order to keep the vivid acids and fresh character of this wine. We recommend serving at 8-10 C as refreshing drink on hot summer days, but it is an excellent company to dishes as well.
Nektár |
It is a very appropriate name for this wine. It has sweet, flowery bouquet with taste reminiscent of Irsai Olivér or of fresh pears. We recommend serving at 6-10 C with salads or light roasts.
Cserszegi Fűszeres |
This wine is more aromatic and full-bodied than its younger brother, the Nektár, but its fresh, "crispy" acids, greenish white colour give similarly refreshing feeling and appearance. We recommend serving at 8-10 C with salads or roasts.
Cabernet Cuvée |
It is made from the blending of Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc grown and harvested from the winery-s own vineyards. It is bottled after having been mellowed in wooden barrels for a few months. We recommend serving at 16-18 C with spicy roasts or Hungarian dishes.
Kékfrankos |
The leading red wine of the winery. Apart from being the most characteristic red wine of the Kunsági wine district, it is also considered to be a Hungaricum. Its taste is pleasantly aromatic, with low tannin content. It has bright, raspberry and blackberry red colour. We recommend serving at 16-18 C with spicy roasts or Hungarian dishes.
Pinot Noir - Kékfrankos Rose |
One of the best wines of our winery. Made and mellowed from Pinot Noir and Kékfrankos grown and harvested from the winery-s own vineyards. Fresh, rich-tasted wine with fruity bouquet. We recommend serving at 6-10 C with light dishes or as a refreshing drink.

Special wines |
Pinot Noir 1999 |
Pinot Noir is one of the oldest red wine-grapes grown in the world. The wine is granite-red, fruity taste with delicate velvety tannin content.
Recommended with spicy meat dishes. |
Nektár (Late Harvest) |
This wine that is made from overripe grapes, retains its flowery bouquet despite of the late harvest. It has high sugar content, but in certain years dry fermentation can occur. This wine has really characteristic taste and bouquet. We recommend serving at 8-10 C with deserts. It is also a talk wine.

OLASZRIZLING (ITALIAN RIESLING) - dry, white table wine |
It is a very popular Hungarian wine-grape. It is thought to be a kind of grape with Hungarian origin. The Olaszrizling is very common in Kunság wine-district. Its wine has harmonious taste with a bouquet reminiscent of sweet mignonette. The bouquet is usually mildly intense. Its taste is quite fruity with a pleasant savour of apple and pear. We recommend serving at 10 C with roasts, salads or any light, vegetable-based dishes.
CSERSZEGI FUSZERES - RIZLINGSZILVÁNI CUVÉE - semi-sweet white wine |
It is a wine with fruity bouquet, made by blending two well-known kinds of grapes. It has a special way of making. During the process some grape juice is added to the composition in order to make it sweeter. This wine is rather aromatic with fresh acids. One of the components, the Cserszegi is a genuine Hungaricum. It is very good for making carbonated drinks. We recommend serving at 8?10 C with white roasts, and fruit- or vegetable-based dishes.
KÉKFRANKOS ROSÉ - semi-sweet wine |
The "rosé" wines are usually very fresh, so the best season to drink them is late spring and summer when they give excellent refreshment. We recommend serving at 8?10 C as a refreshing drink or as a talk wine.
KÉKFRANKOS - dry red wine |
It is considered to be a typically Hungarian wine and it is quite common throughout the country. Its wine has medium colour with reddish shade. The silky taste with a savour of sour cherry is due to the medium tannin content. Its harmonious taste and bouquet makes it an excellent company to friendly chats. We recommend serving at 16-18 C with spicy Hungarian dishes.
KÉKFRANKOS - semi-sweet red wine |
This wine is made by adding some grape juice in order to make it sweeter. The result is a softer taste. It is very popular among those who prefer non-dry wines to dry ones. We recommend serving with spicy Hungarian dishes or with chocolate-cocoa based desserts.
ZWEIGELT - semi-sweet red wine |
It is a very popular red wine. It has rather vivid acids and a bouquet reminiscent of raspberry with medium tannin content. It also contains some grape juice which makes it softer. We recommend serving at 16?18 C with spicy Hungarian dishes.
